Your first feeling of Iceland starts right at the airport as the Leifur Eiriksson Keflavik airport is really small, on international level, and easy. Your driver will be waiting for you in the arriving hall, welcoming you to Iceland. Your private driver will drop you off at your hotel.

Day 2 - Snaefellsnes Peninsula

Private tour with a luxury vehicle. Snaefellsjokull glacier is the location Jules Verne picked as the beginning of his book, Journey to the center of the earth. Snaefellsnes peninsula is a bird’s paradise, with sandy beaches on one side and the mountains on the other and Snaefellsjokull glacier towering over.

Highlights

o Gerduberg:wall of beautiful basalt columns, forming geometric patterns in the cliffs.

o Snaefellsjokull glacier:Snaefellsjokull glacier lies atop an extinct volcano. A magnificent sight, it rises, solitary, at the end of the peninsula, into the North Atlantic sky.

o Hellnar: An area with rugged shore cliffs and abundant bird life. Nearby are a wealth of caves, volcanic craters chasms and fantastic lava formations.

o Djupalonssandur:A sandy beach on the foot of Snaefellsjokull. It was once home to sixty fishing boats and one of the most prolific fishing villages on the Snaefellsnes peninsula but today the bay is uninhabited.

Day 3 – Into the glacier & Caving

o Into the Glacier:The ice tunnel and the caves are located high on Europe‘s second largest glacier, Langjokull. You will get an amazing opportunity to explore the glacier and see it from the inside. This is once in a lifetime experience where you will be taken to the hidden beautiful ice.

o Caving:Vidgelmir cave is big and wide as the name suggests (Vid means wide). Therefore, the cave is easy to walk through so you can easily enjoy the beautiful colors and rock formations.

Day 4 - Hvalfjordur and Borgarfjordur

Private tour with a luxury vehicle. Hvalfjordur and Borgarfjordur are not Iceland’s most popular attractions but that just means you have more space to enjoy it yourself. Waterfalls, hot springs and a glacier are among the things this tour has to offer.

Highlights

o Deildartunguhver:The most powerful hot spring in Europe. At the moment it provides 190 l/sec. of 97˚C hot water. In the summer local farmers sell vegetables next to the hot spring.

o Barnafoss and Hraunfossar falls:Barnafoss (children fall) named after two children who fell into the waterfall centuries ago. Hraunfossar (Lava falls), the water runs on ancient lava fields, covered with trees, into the river.

o Glymur:Iceland’s highest waterfall, Glymur falls from 196 meters to the ground. It‘s a short hike from the parking lot to see this tall waterfall but if you want to hike all the way to the top it takes about 4 hours.

Day 5 - Reykjanes Peninsula with Blue lagoon

Reykjanesskagi is a peninsula at the southwestern end of Iceland, near the capital Reykjavik. The peninsula is marked by active volcanism under its surface, and large lava fields, allowing little vegetation. There are numerous hot springs and sulphur springs to see on the Reykjanes peninsula.

Highlights

o Kleifarvatn Lake:In a big earthquake in 2000 the lake began to diminish and about 20% of its surface disappeared. Since the earthquake it has slowly started to fill up again and in 2008 the lake had regained its previous surface level.

o Seltun geothermal area:Sulphuric water and gases have created colorful deposits, the soil is colored in green, yellow and red colors.

o Krysuvikurbjarg:Cliffs where you see the North Atlantic Ocean break on the cliff. Krysuvikurbjarg is known for its active bird life and of course it’s amazing beauty.

o Blue lagoon:The waters in the Blue Lagoon are rich in minerals that are meant to have healing powers for your skin. The Blue lagoon is something you may only experience once in a lifetime, so dip in and enjoy the hot water and white mud on your skin.

There is a lot to do in Reykjavik, including museums, famous buildings or just sit down at a coffee-house and watch Icelanders go about their business. Hopefully what you are left with, after your stay in Iceland, are great memories of rough but beautiful nature and fun activities. Safe travels and we hope to see you again sometime.

Northern lights

The Season for Northern lights extends from the tail of the summer from September through the winter and well into April. The best time to see the Northern lights, however, is in the middle of the winter when the weather is the coldest and the nights are pitch black. Crisp cold evenings with skies clear enough to see stars is a prime indicator for auroral activity.
