Updated: Apr 13, 2023

For those considering a beach vacation that offers something a little different, consider Kenya organized by our DMC partner Travel Wild. This East African country is home to some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches on the continent, and is a great place to see some of the region's unique wildlife. Some of the best beaches in Kenya are located on the Swahili Coast. This stretch of coastline is known for its dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and white-sand beaches. Be sure to visit the town of Malindi, which is home to some of the best beaches in the country. If travelers are looking to see some of Kenya's famous wildlife, consider visiting the beaches near the town of Watamu. This area is home to a wide variety of animals, including dolphins, whales, and turtles. You can also go on safari to see lions, elephants, and other animals. No matter what guests are looking for, Kenya has a beach that's perfect! So, if looking for a unique and exotic beach vacation, be sure to consider Kenya!

LAMU

Kenya's oldest town and once a center for the slave trade out of East Africa, Lamu is a coastal paradise with a fascinating history. The winding streets, classic Swahili tradition, and wooden dhows that dot the coastline give the city an intimate feel where centuries seem to collide. Relax in the surf or under a coconut tree on Lamu's white sand beaches. The resorts here provide world-class amenities in an otherwise quaint little town.

MOMBASA

This coastal paradise is located south of Lamu and provides a more modern look than Lamu. Scuba diving, windsurfing, water sports and more can be found on both the north and south coast of Mombasa. The white-sand beaches and crystal-clear blue water of Mombasa's south coast attracts visitors looking for a relaxing holiday by the beach. The north coast is much closer to the city and provides top-class accommodations as well as pristine beaches.

ZANZIBAR

This island paradise boasts idyllic white-sand beaches and hundreds of years of history as an Arab trading post for East Africa. Visit the Old Fort that dates back to 1700, the House of Wonders, Livingston's House and more. Take a tour of a spice plantation, swim with dolphins or head to the blue waters for deep sea fishing. Zanzibar's resorts come complete with pools, spas, world-class dining options, water sport facilities and amazing beaches just a few meters away.
