You'll never forget the moment when you come face to face with a magnificent and historic architecture in Magdalena del Mar. Iglesia del Inmaculado Corazon de Maria ~ The church has an architectural finish of neo- Renaissance style, ending in a large dome on which rests the image of the Virgin Mary with open arms, 10 meters high, made of resin and fiberglass by the artist arequipeño Fredy Luque Sonco. Brought by parts from Arequipa, it was hoisted in January 2006, during the recovery works.
Its characteristic pink and green colors have remained throughout the years, gaining splendor thanks to the restoration works of both the facade and inside the Temple; in addition to the general repainting. The lighting company Enel was responsible for providing external lighting.
The bells were acquired thanks to the donations of Lima women through Catholic Action. The image of the Virgin that had been originally built in 1956 was placed on an altar 40 years later, at the end of Avenida Brasil.
