Havana Nights at the National Theater with Cultural Cuba

Cuba is home to one of the foremost dance companies in the world; The Ballet Nacional de Cuba. Following the classical Soviet system, the National Ballet School turns out 40 professionals a year. After completing the training, a young dancer earns approximately $30 a month, which compares to the salaries of Cuba’s doctors and skilled workers. Performances generally begin at 8:30 pm so there is time for an earlier dinner nearby in Old Havana and late-late-night options post-ballet, too.
