THE BIRTHPLACE OF THE INCAS & THE SUN
All the way up at 3,812 meters (12,507 ft), one of the many highlights of Peru is visiting the floating islands of Lake Titicaca to learn about the life and traditions of the Uros people. The floating islands are man-made of floating reeds called totora that are also used to build their boats and homes.
Here’s a fun fact: According to the Inca mythology, Lake Titicaca is “The Birthplace of the Incas,” and “The Birthplace of the Sun.”
