Moroccan art de vivre with We Pan

We Plan Morocco brings you to the initiative of the creation of a museum of perfume in Marrakech, in the heart of the Medina in an artfully restored 19th century riad, from Abderrazzak Benchaâbane, a native of the red city. An ethnobotanist and creator of perfumes, he wants visitors to Marrakech to discover and appreciate the place of perfumes in the Moroccan art de vivre. Abderrazzak Benchaabane was approached in 1998 by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, the owners of the Majorelle Gardens in Marrakech, to survey the planting and to provide the Latin names of its plants.

Later in 2001 Yves Saint Laurent requested Benchaabane to develop a perfume that represented the Majorelle Garden. As Benchaabane describes it, he went from “The Kingdom of Silence to the Kingdom of Fragrances.”

A perfume bar and an atelier for the creation of bespoke fragrances will also initiate visitors to the art of composing perfumes, so that each person can create their own during a private workshop.
