Looking at Picasso through food and cooking. This is the original approach the Picasso Museum in Barcelona has taken with this exhibition of nearly 200 works of art, which examines one of Picasso’s most constant themes.
Museums and institutions around the world have loaned works for this exhibition. It allows visitors to follow a chronological journey of Picasso’s life and works, from this unique point of view. Visitors will be able to discover the restaurants which were important to him, such as the famous Els Quatre Gats in Barcelona; still-lifes full of symbolism; and the metaphorical language of food in the work of Picasso. In addition, the exhibition features the special collaboration of the famous chef Ferran Adrià, establishing a dialogue between Picasso’s creative process and contemporary culinary creation. Art and food, a very appetising combination for any visit to Barcelona.
