Huchuy Qosqo is an Inca archeological site located north of Cusco. The name means “Little Cusco” in Quechua language and it’s situated at elevation 3650 m (11,800 ft) above the Sacred Valley. The mystical site is remote and can be accessible only by foot.
The hike to Huchuy Qosqo is off-the-beaten-path and it’s a day trek from Cusco. Once you’ve reached the site, you can explore the ruins and observe the Inca buildings with their perfect stonework, the terraces for agriculture, as well as the reservoir used in storing water during the dry season.
